Markets, partners and the capacity question
What it is
Awager streams real slot machines. Instead of a digital copy of a slot, the player watches and controls a physical machine standing in a studio or casino, shown in 4K with touch controls that mirror the cabinet's buttons. Electronic table games are available the same way.
The company was founded by former 888 Holdings people, is headquartered in Israel and employs around 75 staff across Israel, Eastern Europe and North America. In October 2025 Aristocrat agreed to acquire Awager from Oaktree Capital Management for an undisclosed sum, subject to regulatory approvals. That matters to operators in two ways: access to Aristocrat's slot library becomes a realistic prospect, and contract terms may change once integration into Aristocrat's digital business begins.
Games and features
- Each partner gets its own broadcast studio, branded and stocked with the machines it chooses, connected to the operator's wallet.
- In Canada, Loto-Quebec is a long-standing partner and has upgraded to version 3 of the platform.
- In the United States the service is approved in New Jersey, where FanDuel signed an exclusive partnership and a studio houses more than 100 machines.
- Caesars is also among its distribution partners.
- Warren Steven, previously at Golden Nugget Online Gaming, joined in 2024 as North America General Manager.
- In Europe, the company announced entry into Sweden under a licence from the Swedish Gambling Authority.
Capacity is the trade-off. One physical machine serves one player at a time, which makes live slots a premium product, not a mass-market lobby category. The studio, the machines and the staff are fixed costs that only pay back if the right players use them, so an operator should estimate how many concurrent VIP sessions it expects before deciding how many machines to stock.
Who it's for
Operators with land-based roots and a VIP segment that values authenticity: players who trust a physical machine more than a random number generator, and land-based VIPs a casino wants to keep when they play from home. A purely online brand with a mass-market audience will usually find standard digital slots more efficient.
Before you integrate
- Which machines and game titles can be placed in your studio, given the licences held by their manufacturers?
- What happens when a machine breaks mid-session, and how is the player's balance protected?
- How are session limits and other responsible gambling tools applied to a physical machine controlled remotely?
- What changes, if any, are expected after the Aristocrat deal closes?
